Bishop Paul Morton to Retire As FGBC's Presiding Bishop
UPDATE on Dec. 23, 2014:
We wanted to clear some things up concerning this article: We posted one that said he was leaving and another stating he was not leaving but there was some confusion in the first one. There were reports stating that he was leaving the pulpit and his wife may too. Actually, it is more of a war between two bloggers (You can read the article here about what the news was or wasn’t between the two). Anyway, we had to retract on our story because we knew from the beginning that he was only leaving the position of ‘presiding bishop’ of FGBC not the pulpit. (You can read that one here). We didn’t want to go into their argument that got some of us other bloggers tangled in it but this is for our readers.
Original post from Dec. 18, 2014:
We in the church community are well aware of Bishop Paul S. Morton plans to resign from being the presiding bishop of FGBC this coming year. There's also online buzz that wife, Dr. Debra B. Morton just might follow suit but we are not stating this is truth. Dr. Debra is a charismatic leader, author, visionary and entrepreneur who have served diligently alongside her husband, Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr. as senior pastor of Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church. We will have to see what is next but Bishop Paul Morton will continue to preach and pastor at his church. Bishop Joseph Walker will take over as presiding bishop of Full Gospel Baptist Church.
