Angela Bassett's "Megachurch Murder" Premieres on February 7th

It's only been about a week since Angela Bassett's long anticipated film "Whitney" aired on the Lifetime network and now she is hoping to score big ratings again with a movie about a church scandal.


"Megachurch Murder" stars Tamala Jones and Malcolm-Jamal Warner and will air on Feb. 7th.

It's inspired by Shakespeare’s “Hamlet,” the film, also starring Michael Beach, Shanica Knowles, Romeo Miller, Corbin Bleu and Dawnn Lewis and is set in a modern day black church.

In "Megachurch Murder", Hannah’s life spirals out of control after her father Hamilton Spears dies in a cycling accident. The glue holding things together is Hannah’s new beau, Oliver. Not long after the tragic death, evidence pointing to a church conspiracy and threats towards her father begin surfacing, leaving Hannah determined to prove that Hamilton’s death was not an accident at all, but murder.

As she inches more closely to the truth, she realizes her own mother, Martha and her boyfriend’s dad, Clay just may be involved in the death of her father.
